I recently had the pleasure of doing an adorable apple picking portrait session in studio. It reminded me of all of the amazing options for apple picking in our beautiful Hudson Valley town! I thought it might be fun to write a quick blog post that gave you a little peek into our apple session and also highlighted my top 3 favorite places for apple picking in Warwick NY.
The Session
A ton of pre-session work went into this fun fall-themed session! I had to consider background selection and wardrobe planning – and of course I had to find the perfect model. After picking Miss Addison as my model, and selecting the perfect backdrop (quick shoutout to HSD Backdrops, who I LOVE), I scoured the internet for hours looking for just the right outfit – and I found it!

The Wardrobe
I HIGHLY recommend this adorable little dress! I get my outfit pieces from a variety of different sources, but sometimes I hit the jackpot on Amazon. This was certainly one of those times! I already had it in yellow, and for this session I purchased it in red – and then added the cute little apple patch and two red hair bows to complete the look!

Pennings is a Warwick favorite for apple picking and is known to have several other attractions (both kid-friendly and adult-only). After booking your apple picking reservation, there are also hard cider flights (for the adults!), face painting, kettle corn, ice cream, pumpkin picking, a large farmers market for shopping and depending on the time of day, food trucks! Apple Ridge Orchards – 101 Jessup Road, Warwick, NY
Apple Ridge Orchards is one of our favorite places for apple picking in Warwick NY. This is because of how much there is to do when you visit! If you decide to visit Apple Ridge this season, you absolutely can’t skip the farm stand, where you can pick up some fresh, hot apple cider and donuts! Apple Ridge also has a variety of animals that you can pet and interact with – this part is always a huge hit with the kids! Their Honey Bee Observation Hive is where you can pick up some raw honey! It doesn’t end there – there are also hay rides and a spooky movie night, plus there’s barbecue! Really a little bit of everything for an awesome family outing! Ochs Orchard – 4 Ochs Lane Warwick, NY
If you’re looking for a location for apple picking in Warwick NY but you also want other options, Ochs Orchard is the place for you! In October they offer apples, vegetables, tomatoes, pears, raspberries pumpkins AND mums! At their popular farm market, they boast a huge selection of produce. This includes homegrown and locally grown fresh produce; plus: bread, honeys, jams, soups, syrups, cider, butters, eggs, milk, and fresh-picked apples. AND homemade ice cream and fresh pies!
