Meet Melissa

Melissa Marino is a photographer and portrait artist located in the beautiful Hudson Valley, and is known as Orange County’s fine art photographer.

Melissa has a background as a pediatric speech pathologist, which gives her years of experience and a unique insight into the minds of children – this can be seen in her ability to connect with even the most energetic and self-directed children. In fact, Melissa is known in the special needs community as the “go to” photographer for her high levels of patience and understanding. This has made her a true expert in capturing beautiful images of every child.

At home…

On the personal side, Melissa is the mother to two beautiful and rambunctious boys who keep her on her toes and scramble her brain daily! Aside from photography, Melissa enjoys music, movies and travel. If you ask Melissa her favorite place in the entire world, she will tell you it’s Roatan Island, in Honduras. The people are friendly, the water is cerulean blue, and the sand just begs you to take long walks in it. Melissa also loves hiking and the outdoors, and can often be found exploring different locations around the Hudson Valley.

Accolades

The mark of a good photographer is that her images are loved by clients and fans. The mark of a truly talented and skilled photographer is that she has had her work recognized by publications and professional organizations. Melissa excels in both of these areas, as she possesses not only a dedicated fan base but has also been recognized by industry leaders by earning awards in professional competitions.

In 2019 Melissa earned four blue ribbons in the NYS Professional Photographer’s Society for her portrait artistry. Melissa’s photographic art has also been published several times, including multiple covers of Brand Model Magazine. Melissa takes the art of photography seriously. More than a hobby, more than a job, photography is a passion to Melissa, and each day she strives to be the best in every way.
